Time

Unless otherwise noted in the schedule, each program begins promptly at 8:00 p.m. on the first day and ends at 1:00 p.m. on the last day. You may arrive between 6:30 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.

Application Fee

For all programs and retreats we ask for a nonrefundable application fee of $50 Cdn. Long programs may have their own advance registration fee. These fees are included in the program costs listed. Postdated cheques cannot be accepted.

Pricing

The costs of all programs are quoted in Canadian funds only. Payment may be made by cash, cheque, money order, Visa, MasterCard, or bank draft in Canadian funds payable to Loyola House. Should we receive payment in US currency, either by cash or cheque, a 10% surcharge will be added to your retreat to cover our conversion costs. Our fees help with the maintenance and preservation of our trails and our farm, now a certified organic operation. The fees for all directed retreats include room and board, daily sessions with a spiritual director, daily liturgy, all required materials, and access to the land of Ignatius Jesuit Centre of Guelph.

Financial Assistance Information

As an independent retreat house, Loyola House has very limited resources. It depends for its survival on what it takes in with its programs and with the generosity of its benefactors. At this time, there are no grants available. We would ask that, if you are considering a program, retreat, or workshop at Loyola House, please make sure you have the resources necessary to enter into what is being offered.

40-Day Spiritual Exercises Institute
40-Day Spiritual Exercises Institute
The 40-Day Spiritual Exercises Institute provides you a wonderful opportunity for growth in your personal relationship with God. It offers you an experience of deep prayer and daily guidance with a spiritual director as you journey through the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius. Touching upon the basic principles of true Christian growth and the spiritual life, the Institute begins with preparatory instruction on prayer and certain theological themes that are pertinent to the Spiritual Exercises. It concludes with time for personal reflection and sharing on your retreat experience.

This Institute can be very helpful for someone making a choice, whether it is a vocational choice, a decision within one's current way of life, or a decision during a transitional period. It is also an excellent experience for anyone in a time of renewal or sabbatical.

Disposition Day Retreats during the 40-day
Disposition Day Retreats during the 40-day
This is a newer program and not the ordinary 5-Day Retreat. It takes place in conjunction with the Disposition Days of the 40-Day Institute.

People are asked to arrive after 1:30 p.m. on the first day with the first session at 3:00 p.m. Departure is after lunch on the last day.

This is a 5-Day Directed Retreat which takes place during the Disposition Days of the 40-Day Institute. When you arrive the house is already in silence. On the afternoon of the second day they begin having instructional talks on prayer and thematic talks on God's presence in both our world and in our deepest desires. Each person on this 5-Day Retreat will be invited to attend these talks and have an individual director who will guide you in prayer as you continue on your unique journey with our loving God.
